Commonly Asked Questions About Our Furniture
Who builds it?
Our furniture is built in the Holmes County, OH area by skilled Amish and Mennonite craftsmen. We buy from over forty wholesale builders, many of them small shops specializing in chairs, tables, or bedrooms, etc.
Can we order something different than what we see here?
Absolutely. We sell more through orders than from directly off the showroom floor.
What is available?
Anything you see here on the floor is generally available in least five wood species and a broad variety of premium stains. (See our stain sample basket.) Two-tone stain and paint are available as well.
The items you see are standard items with standard prices. We have catalogs full of other quality hardwood furniture pieces that our builders offer in standard dimensions and prices. If we do not have a standard item available that you are looking for, we can get a quote directly from the builder for a piece in the dimensions and style that you are looking for.
What is the lead time on an order?
Most of our builders build to order rather than shipping from a fully stocked warehouse, so the lead time is usually around six to eight weeks. Mattresses and outdoor furniture have a shorter lead time.
What are the terms on an order?
We generally ask for a twenty-percent down payment at the time of the order; the balance is due upon delivery/pickup of the completed order. On any purchase over $1,000, we do offer a 3% cash or check discount, as well as free delivery within thirty miles.
Is the quality worth the investment?
Our builders stand behind their work. Our furnit is built to last a lifetime—or much longer. If at any time, you happen to find a defect in workmanship, we do our best to remedy it at no cost to you. Also, you are welcome to compare our prices with other stores that sell similar quality Amish furniture. You will find we are quite competitive.
